We have been a little behind with our fortnightly awesome book giveaway and other admin duties.  Ridgedale Richard has been working abroad the last couple of months and in the meantime Ridgedale Yohanna has been organizing and managing the spring orders and deliveries for Ridgedale.  We just ordered 13 species of mushroom sawdust spawn we'll be putting into logs thinned from our dense riparian areas.  Lion's Mane (hericium erinaceus),  Shiitake (lentinus edodes), Cauliflower (sprassis crispa), King Oyster (pleurotus eryngii), Pioppino (agrocybe aegerita), Enoki (flammulina velutipes), Nameko (pholiota nameko), Pearl Oyster (pleurotus ostreatus), Elm Oyster (hypsizygus ulmarius), Blue Oyster (pleurotus columbinus) , Common Oyster (pleurotus pulmonarius), Tarragon Oyster (pleurotus euosmus) & Branched Oyster (pleurotus cornucopiae).  We have plenty of willow, alder & some oak to thin, so we can turn thinnings into high quality food.  To celebrate spring around the corner we thought we would give away a copy of Paul Stamets awesome book.  Read more for details...

We have posted this recorded talk before, but feel it's both fitting and well worth reminding folks about.  It's 1.5hrs that's well worth a watch.  Paul talks about his life work & journey.  Personally we have watched it several times.  What an incredible man.

If you want to be in to win then it's simple.  Just share the original Facebook post from Ridgedale Permaculture to your timeline (and any groups you think might appreciate it) and then leave us a comment HERE on the blog.  We'll pick a lucky winner out of the hat in the middle of next week and zip over a copy. Please follow these simple instructions or you won't be in to win!!

Hey guys. My comment goes like this;
This week I learned that I have been accepted as a permanent resident of Australia. We have bought a home and love it very much, now the proud stewards of 55 acres of this beautiful planet. I found myself a great job, a stones throw from the house, where I am now responsible for the organic market garden. I've set up a local veg box scheme for our valley and even grew my first even water melons this year. The farm is primarily an organic olive oil producer. Every year we prune and chip the olive trees. I would like to inoculate those chips to use as mushroom pathways in the market garden. This book would be a great addition to my learning pathway. Much love

I've had a couple of introductions into the magic and power of mycelium one through a flatmate working with natural fibres and 2 at a permaculture course. I would love to learn more.

This is exactly the subject I have been interrested in for the last years. And there is so much more to learn about it. I think I will learn about fungi to the rest of my live. Luckely I seem to have handed over this marathonstick to my granddaughter.
