To celebrate the beginning of our new Permaculture project & enterprise we thought is would be perfect to give away a copy of Ethan Roland & Gregory Landau's new book Regenerative Enterprise. I first met Ethan whilst working in Thailand, then again during my time at Gaia University in California, where Gregory also studied. Globally we have spent a huge amount of resources, energy and money wreaking havoc on soil, ecosystems and ultimately our own health, and we are going to have to spend a lot more to restore it all. But as Ethan & Gregory put it, "It is no longer acceptable to create financial profits by extracting the foundational living wealth of our lands and waters. Enterprises need a new model with which to interpret the world, and a new process for whole-systems design and decision-making." Money is still largely a contentious issue in the Permaculture world it seems, and as a...

I see my role mostly as a nutrient. Thats's how I can best describe what my work seems to be. Doesn't sound too alluring does it? I've been working somewhat relentlessly over these past years on my mission to spread regenerative design and holistic decision making around the globe. I have constantly been considering how to refine my own (un)learning adventure and listening deeply into what participants of trainings and others working in the field reflect back as leverage points to make my work more beneficial. That's why I have been developing what I think is quite a unique learning opportunity in Europe, our new 10 Week Project Initiator Internship training. I'd like to know what you think... We are going to be offering intensive trainings from April 2014 onwards including a unique 10 Week Internship with over 530 hrs of curriculum based learning and 5 Certificate courses; including a 90hr+ PDC, Keyline® Design & Holistic Management®, Regenerating Soils, Forest Gardens & Perennial Cropping and Teaching Permaculture Creatively. These internships are designed to support dedicated students from around the world wanting a fast- track intensive & immersive learning experience that goes deep into design, planning, budgeting and managing holistically. We signed papers on Monday and get access on 27th Jan 2014. ridgedale PERMACULTURE has birthed! An exciting time as we can now focus our busy training schedule at our own HQ and showcase cold climate regenerative design strategies. Over the coming months we will describe some of the in's and out's of buying a farm and establishing a Permaculture enterprise. It has been an exciting ride with a lot of twists and turns. This pioneering project will showcase Permaculture Design, Keyline Design and Holistic Management at work in a diverse and highly robust & productive local food production. One aspect of our Holistic Goals is to facilitate others to participate in regenerative enterprises, and so we will be documenting and opening the farm gates for the benefit of all. |
