Film/Photography/Graphics position at Ridgedale

The Core Team are gathering at Ridgedale shortly for our busy first season at the farm.  We're breaking ground on Scandinavia's first dedicated Permaculture & Regenerative Agriculture farm & edu site.  We're establishing a pasture and perennial crop based beyond-organic local food system at 59°N, one of the northern most projects of this ilk on the planet, and the first Keyline designed farm in the region.  We previously advertised this role, and had a bunch of great applications, but our vision was too broad and we did not really know which direction would be most beneficial to take this in....

We have decided to clarify what we are looking for, in the hope of inviting another Core Team member to the awesome Ridgedale team for the 2014 season.

This volunteer role will focus on photography and short high quality educational film to document the development of diverse and integrated systems at the farm.  Graphics work enhancing photos with digital art/ text & general informational posters would be an awesome addition.  We will work closely with you in this regard.

Our 2014 training schedule runs from end April through October, and during this time dramatic changes will occur on the farm as we implement the "skeleton" of the design.  This will include Keyline plowing & Keyline tree bed prep/ planting, earthworks and regenerative animal systems, extensive kitchen gardens & fertility farming, natural building plus a whole lot more.  To get an idea of what is in store we suggest you look through this series of articles breaking down design at the farm through the perspective of the Keyline Scale of Permanence;

We will provide full accommodation & the highest quality organic/ beyond organic food throughout your stay.  You will also be able to take one of our renowned PDC courses for free in Sept this year, as well as sit in on other specialist trainings and you will be very much integrated into our core team.  Awesome saunas, incredible sunsets, magical nature and the best quality food you can get plus a whole lot of fun with incredible people from every part of the world is just how we roll.  We normally work Mon- Fri and whilst this role is flexible it would be best to consider yourself "on" this schedule, and there will be plenty of hands on experience in all kinds of systems work to engage with also.

This is a huge potential learning opportunity for someone looking to be exposed to regenerative systems in a farm setting, working alongside professional designers and a dedicated small team working hard to demonstrate future- proof local resiliency. In exchange we are looking for very high quality photography & short "how to" films for regular release on our blog/ facebook page, etc.  More considerations below;

MUST

• Be able to come to Sweden between 16- 24th April 2014
• Have photography/ film work you can send us links to
• Be self- motivated, punctual & be able to work to a deadlines
• Be fluent in English
• Be happy to abide to our Site Policy

SHOULD

• Be available for the whole season (until mid Oct 2014)
• Have enough graphic wizardry to embellish photographs/ create graphic edu posters
• Have some experience or familiarity in the field of Permaculture & Regenerative Ag
• Have own basic gear/ computer
• Be excited to get your hands dirty in between this work!

COULD

• Have Graphics/ IT Skills
• Flex into other roles if it seems beneficial

It's a very exciting time and we wish to capture as much as possible for both our own record and for the benefit of as many others around the world as we can.  This is a very important role and in this day and age of media saturation we are especially excited for your dedication & skill to ensure everything can be leveraged for the benefit of all.  We ideally want someone who can commit to the whole season (please let us know if you can't) it will influence our decision, but we are also flexible at this point.
