2026 No-Dig Market Garden Apprentice
1st June - 3rd Aug 2026
Organic/biodynamic food + simple accommodation + concerts + festival
Explanation of the role
At Ridgedale we pride ourselves on offering some of the leading Regenerative Agriculture training opportunities available on the planet. We're seeking two bright-eyed and bushy tailed veg growers to assist in running both existing and new gardens at our new Restaurant! During these 2 months we are running a 6-week theory/practical internship training that includes our 9-day Regenerative Agriculture Design training. We will also be open Friday and Saturday nights and for Sunday brunch up at our restaurant, with 6 weeks of awesome concerts that you get to join. We are also hosting a 2 day Regenerative Agriculture festival where you will meet a lot of awesome people.
This role would suit someone passionate about No-Dig veg production and Regenerative Farming. You must speak good English, as that is the common language of the farm, with Swedish being a great benefit, but not necessary! You must have a driving license. You are well presented, have a strong work-ethic, cheerful and communicative. You are sociable and enjoy receiving and greeting people. You are practical and handy with tools, carpentry, odd-jobs and are self-directed. You are creative and solutions-orientated.
The gardens will already be up and running, and most of the seeding done, and we want you to quickly get an overview of how we run our gardens, and to help manage the teams of interns and course participants in mornings and practical afternoon sessions a couple of weeks after you arrive. You need to be hungry to learn, and live and breath market gardening. In return for your high level of flexibility and solutions orientation, we will do our best to make sure you get all the insight and experience you need on your learning pathway.
Expect to be working with the nursery plants/ daily observations/bed formation/seeding/transplanting/managing row-covers and insect nets/high-tunnel production/harvesting/delivering to the restaurant and kitchen. You will learn about all the processes and tools and materials we use, how to plan and manage a no-dig market garden with confidence.

Eating at the farm
The farm supplies a balanced diet of meat, dairy, eggs, vegetables and whole foods that we have regeneratively raised/grown or 100% organic/biodynamic whole foods that we buy in. You will rotate with the other Apprentices in preparing food, and the interns will take over the rota when they have finished their 9 day training. Bear in mind Ridgedale is a meat producing farm and we also slaughter animals here on the farm. If you are not comfortable with any of this it is probably not wise to apply.
Staying at the farm
We have very simple cabin with 4 rooms that you can share with the other Apprentice. It's close quarters, so you can choose to camp or bring a camper vehicle if you prefer. We light the sauna and bathtub daily for washing, and have an outdoor sink with hot and cold water. We have fiber optic internet with a repeater that works in the main tipi space. You can use a washing machine. In the summer we tend to eat outside or under the tipi's.
Receiving visitors during your stay
- Visitations should be discussed well ahead of time with Richard, and should not be when the 9 day training is being run.
- Your visitors are required to contribute 200 kr per day to cover very basic costs.
- Your visitors will need to either stay in your room or bring all they need for camping.
Vehicle
- There is a farm vehicle available for private use, everyone is responsible for maintaining the logbook and covering their costs (3 kr/km).
- If you can bring you own car then other members may appreciate it also!
