2021 ridgedale team
Farm chef

I’m Elin, a 27 year old chef from Småland (SWE) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Meal-Ecology from Örebro University. After learning the basics of farming in the Southern parts of Europe, I discovered my passion for food as a farmchef at Ridgedale in 2014, where I also got my PDC. I have since then been working as a Recipe-writer, Illustrator, and Barista and last autumn I finished two years as a Sous-chef at Sopköket, a food-waste restaurant in Stockholm. On my spare time I write for Supermiljöbloggen, draw, and dance - ballet, house, and contemporary. Good food for me is a perfect balance between tending to the needs of the soul and those of the body. Fermentation and fire are my favorite processes, I love my chilis and I’d rather not live without butter.
Farm Manager - BroilerS and grazing

David Mumford farms on the Isles of Scilly in the UK, where he lives with his partner Kylie and children on their rented 36-acre property. They raise pastured duck meat, eggs, pastured Turkey, grass fed dexter beef and have a quarter-acre no dig market garden. Dave designed and built a micro slaughter facility on their farm, where they process their poultry and sell it directly to their island community. Outside of farming, Dave is a keen fisherman and loves being on the water - he also has a passion for pilot gig-rowing and has coxed many teams to success in the world championship gig races. Dave’s looking forward to coming to Ridgedale to work and develop his skills, because he believes that regenerative farming practices need to be the future of farming on the Islands, and he is keen to share this knowledge in order to help grow local farming businesses.
Apprentice farm manager - BROILERS AND GRAZING

Jan-Anders Cederberg hails from Finland, 25 years old and excited to be part of the broiler-team. I studied economics and got my masters' degree in November, but I decided not to pursue a career in that field and instead return to my roots and become a farmer. I love the countryside and all it has to offer. A farm is the perfect place for me and my finacée to raise or future family and affords us the means of spending our work-time meaningfully. but my outlook for conventional agriculture has always been quite bleak. I want to bring farming away from the margin with a low-debt, vertical integration approach, and spending time instead of money. In my spare time I enjoy hunting; gardening; cooking; reading and the occasional video game.
Apprentice FARM MANAGER - LAYERS AND GRAZING

My Name is Malte, I am 27 years old, live in Germany and I will be taking on the layer apprentice position. Until this year I have worked as a CrossFit Coach and was certain that I will open my own gym someday. However, I discovered Regenerative Agriculture through a Seminar from Richard and since then I decided to switch gears. Now I dream of my own small-scale farm with multiple animal enterprises. Apart from being passionate about regenerative agriculture, I am praised for my onion jam recipe and known for my late-night fried eggs. I am experienced in programming creative team workouts with odd farm objects and I am always up for a hot sauna. I am excited to get to know the whole team, the hens and the cows and I am looking forward to an awesome season.
Market Garden Manager

After graduating in Comparative politics and working as a coordinator for an environmental INGO, Selma embarked on an agricultural journey, traveling from farm to farm in order to learn small scale farming through direct experiences. She mainly traveled in the North of Scandinavia, working in market gardens, agroforestry, berry production and sheep farms, focusing on cold climates and short production seasons. Her passions for cooking, high quality food, no-till gardening, as well as her beliefs in the necessity of a regenerative farming system, have led her to work at Ridgedale Farm this past year. After working in 2020 as an apprentice, she will be managing the market gardens next season. Selma is highly motivated by feeding amazing, tasty vegetables to the local communities.
